Daylighting | Study Model

Purpose:

Learn to use daylight for illuminating interior spaces, while gaining an understanding of how different types of apertures bring daylight into a space in different ways. Adding the use of shading devices for controlling heat and glare to create a comfortable, well lit space for reading.

Project:

Create a scaled model with a room 45’ long by 25’0” deep, with the 45’0” side oriented North/South, and with 14’0” maximum ceiling height. This room must also have a minimum of 6-8 library stacks (8’0” l x 2’0” d x 7’0” h) and the maximum number of reading tables possible.
